Tacit Innovations has successfully raised its first series of seed funding.
The tech startup, a graduate of HYPERDRIVE’s latest cohort, raised $700K in funding led by BDC, Canrock, Hyperdrive, the founders and private investors.
“Our vision is to increase the restaurant-goers satisfaction while dining out by allowing them to quickly find detailed information about where and what to eat, and empower them to better control their experience,” says Cris Jucan, CEO of Tacit Innovations. “Financing will fuel the mobile platform development as well as sales and growth. The next step is launching the product in restaurants across North America.”
The Toronto-based company, which also has a Waterloo office, designed a direct and easy-to-use mobile app and platform called maegan. The revolutionary technology allows customers to discover restaurants, browse menus, manage their orders and pay for their meals from the comfort of their own smartphone.
“Our goal is to reduce the amount of time it takes for customers to find, place, and pay for an order in a restaurant, and to also allow restaurants to effectively and efficiently manage their staff, menus and social media platforms,” explains Tacit Innovations CTO Brenda Crainic. “The new technology integrates seamlessly with existing critical in-restaurant systems and technologies, such as Point of Sale and Payment solutions.”
Tacit Innovations will be making a big announcement this February about an exciting collaboration with a local restaurant.
